Charlie's Pikunii name is Left Hand. He is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe and was born and raised in Browning Montana. He received his Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, from the University of Montana Western. Charles comes from a very large family, his wife is Elisha Davis Kennedy is a teacher in the local schools and together they have two sons named Danny and Chase. Charles is a certified Elementary teacher at the Cutswood Language Immersion School on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation where students are provided a high-quality education to each and every student in the learning environment. All instruction and activities are based on the Blackfeet culture and are spoken in the Nitsitapohwatsin (Blackfoot speaking) language. He has gained skills and knowledge from all his past experiences, and as a teacher, he focuses on all good qualities and experiences. Charles is always learning from the students, co-workers, and supervisors. The highlight of his life has been teaching for the Piegan Institute since 2010 and successfully recruiting and retaining students for the duration of the k-8 Language Immersion program.Â
